Volunteer with AYSO 1672

There are many ways to get involved with AYSO 1672!
Some volunteer roles require more time and training than others. Check out current volunteer opportunities below!

Become a Coach

AYSO will provide the training and support necessary to take you from a soccer parent to a soccer coach. Whether you are seasoned in the game or fresh on the turf, we will help you to succeed.

Become a Referee

Referees are as critical to soccer as players and coaches. In AYSO, the game can’t be played if there aren’t enough referees. As with coaches, AYSO provides all training and continuing support.

Become a Team Parent

Assist the coach by making the snack schedule, distributing the uniforms and making phone calls for picture day, schedule changes, rain-outs, etc.

Become an Admin

AYSO Administrators are volunteer board members who fill a variety of roles to ensure the success of the current and future program. Maybe you have a passion for youth programming or want to get involved outside of coaching; we're always happy to discuss current and future board positions available.

About Volunteering with AYSO

AYSO is a primarily volunteer-led and volunteer-run organization, with volunteer positions for administrators, coaches, and referees.

In AYSO Region 1672, it takes approximately 100 volunteers each soccer season to cover all facets of the AYSO experience, ensuring and honoring AYSO's 6 Core Philosophies:

  • Everyone Plays
  • Balanced Teams
  • Open Registration
  • Positive Coaching
  • Good Sportsmanship
  • Player Development

The AYSO program is designed to create a fun, safe, and respectful environment. All volunteers will receive training to gain age-appropriate knowledge and skills to be effective in their positions.

Time Commitment

To become qualified as an introductory-level coach or referee takes only a few hours. Once trained, you can expect to volunteer around 3 hours each week for 6 weeks depending on volunteer position held.

We realize a weekly commitment may not be feasible for everyone. If you are able to help with random volunteer needs, even if only a few hours during a given season, please reach out! Every minute of volunteering for the AYSO program is appreciated. Email [email protected] if interested.

Training continues throughout the season with optional clinics and workshops to help advance skills, should you be interested.
